ANVOB Expands into Higher Education with New Durham University Society
A New Vision of Britain CIC (ANVOB) is delighted to share exciting news about the next step in our mission to connect nature, creativity, and community — this time reaching students at Durham University.
Over the past month, Sai, a geology student at Durham and long-standing member of the ANVOB team, has been laying the groundwork to establish a brand-new university society dedicated to nature-based creativity and environmental engagement. The university has responded with real enthusiasm, confirming that the proposal can move forward, with a final presentation to the board scheduled for September before the society officially launches.
Building for the future
Behind the scenes, plans are already taking shape for a founding committee, ensuring the society has strong leadership in place from day one. Early interest from students has been very encouraging, and the university has also confirmed funding support to help the society get off the ground.
A growing creative network
One of the most exciting developments is a new collaboration with Durham's Film Society, whose members will contribute photography and media content — giving the new society a strong visual presence from the outset and providing fresh material for ANVOB's own channels.
Students studying biology and the physical sciences are also preparing articles on topics from their coursework, which ANVOB hopes to showcase on our website and potentially feature in a future exhibition — bringing student voices and scientific perspectives into our wider creative programme.
Looking ahead
This partnership reflects ANVOB's ongoing commitment to building bridges between communities, students, and the natural world. We look forward to sharing more as the Durham society takes shape over the coming months, and to welcoming its members into the wider ANVOB family.
